Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance Fund – Student Interflow Scheme
About the Scheme
The Student Interflow Scheme, launched by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance with funding from the University Grant Committee, provides subsistence for university students in Hong Kong to participate in short-term internships or learning programmes in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Eligibility

Local students enrolled in full-time undergraduate programmes at HKU at the time of application and throughout the subsidized exchange activity. (For final-year students, please contact your home Faculty to confirm that your student status will be valid throughout the activity period and at the time of application.)

Participation in interflow activity consists of substantive teaching and learning elements, to be held in the GBA (excluding Hong Kong) , and be organized/coordinated by HKU Faculty/Department/Unit, commencing between September 1, 2025, and April 15, 2028.
*The GBA consists of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Huizhou, Zhaoqing, Hong Kong and Macao.
Funding Scope

The maximum amount of subsidy is calculated by the round-trip cross-border transportation fee, subject to a maximum funding cap at HK$500 per activity. Local transportation within Hong Kong or the GBA is not covered. (e.g. Local taxi fee to High-Speed Rail Station cannot be reimbursed.)

Applicants can submit multiple subsidy applications for interflow activities to be carried out during the subsidized period.

Subsistence of the Scheme is provided on a reimbursement basis to eligible students.
Application for Reimbursement

Complete the online application form and upload the following required documents within 30 calendar days* after the completion of the activity in Chinese Mainland for reimbursement:

*Note: If the activity in Chinese Mainland ends on October 1, the application deadline is October 31, 23:59(HKT)

Confirmation from your home Faculty regarding the validity of student status throughout the activity period and at the time of application (for final-year students only)

Proof of completion of the programme with your name visible on the document (e.g. certificate of completion, transcript, email from host/ faculty confirming your completion) (if required)

Programme itinerary (if required)

Receipt of round-trip cross-border transportation fee

Sharing in English (at least 300 words)

Applications will be processed on a rolling and first-come-first-served basis all year round.

Late submissions or incomplete applications will NOT be considered.
