Programme: 2024 Internship Programme in Guangzhou
Partner Institution: Dynamic Youth of Greater Bay Area
Period: July 6 - August 2, 2024
I am very pleased to have participated in this Guangzhou Internship Program, where I had the opportunity to meet many individuals from various fields and experience the local working and living culture, recognizing more about the development of China nowadays. At the same time, I was able to enhance my own value through the internship, laying a solid foundation for my future career in society.

Under this program, I am glad to have the chance to work in GRID, which mainly focused on the work of urban and production renewal of the whole cities. During the whole internship in GRID, I am extremely grateful for the care and support from my colleagues at the company, who took great care of me and taught me many things, including using the AutoCAD, the communication skill and so forth, they strengthened both my soft and hard skills at work, greatly enriching my experience.
Throughout the whole internship in GRID, I mainly focused on two projects that the company is handling, which were the revitalization of Hai Zhu District, Feng He Area and Guangzhou National Olympic Sports Center. When handling these two projects, I have understood more about the new urban development of the Great Bay Area and the urban village redevelopment in Mainland China, which is none in Hong Kong. These projects have broadened my horizon and enlarged my vision.

Apart from internship, the organizers also provided various activities for all of us to participate in, such as the latest drone flight experience, talks, and visits to Technological companies, allowing us to learn more about the current developments in different fields in Great Bay Area. Additionally, we were able to explore different areas of Guangzhou on our own at the weekend, gaining a deeper understanding of the local lifestyle and culture. For instance, my newly met friend and I grouped together to visit well-known landmarks such as the Dongshankou and Beijing Road.
Lastly, I am very thankful to all the different parties that contributed to making this GZ internship program enrich me a lot. It allowed me to learn and understand through work, applying the knowledge I acquired in school, while experiencing another life in Guangzhou, learning more about the local culture, and finding joy in the process and learn to be independent throughout this month.
