Programme: Winter Culture Exchange Camp in Guizhou

As a student from the University of Hong Kong, I was privileged to engage in a week-long study tour at Guizhou Province. This experience allowed me to step into the campus life, participate in cultural heritage activities such as wax dyeing, immerse myself in the traditional culture of the Miao minority, witness firsthand the food industry of Guizhou, and undergo training at a fire and rescue brigade. Furthermore, I savored the local customs and flavors in an ancient town. These rich and varied experiences helped me develop a nuanced and diverse perspective on Mainland.
Among the array of activities, the wax dyeing workshop struck a chord with me. Participating in this ancient craft offered me a deeper understanding of the importance of preserving and carrying forward intangible cultural heritage. Visiting the Guizhou Provincial Fire and Rescue Brigade, I saw China's professionalism and advancement in
public safety and the profound respect for life.
Throughout the exchange, I was deeply touched by the warmth and hospitality of the people of Guizhou. Whether on campus or in the bustling night markets, the friendliness and enthusiasm of the locals were palpable. In-depth interactions with students from Guizhou University revealed their aspirations and determination to contribute to societal progress.
This exchange program allowed me to experience an authentic Mainland China and the joy of learning and communication. I hope for more opportunities like this in the future, facilitating understanding and friendship among young people from different regions through practical engagement.
Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to China Vision for providing such a platform to deepen our understanding of China's diversity. I look forward to applying the experiences and knowledge gained to my academic and personal life and eagerly anticipate more exchange opportunities in the future.
