Programme: Rural Revitalization and Sustainable Development Service Learning Programme
Partner Institution: Wuhan University
Period: May 18-26, 2024

In terms of my China Vision, this programme has reinforced my belief in the importance of cultural exchange and education. Through immersing myself in the local community and interacting with students, I have come to appreciate the power of education in fostering cross-cultural understanding and appreciation. This experience has solidified my commitment to promoting cultural diversity and bridging the gap between different societies.
One aspect of the programme that left a lasting impression on me was the tea culture research we conducted. Exploring the rich history and significance of tea in Chinese culture provided a profound insight into the country's traditions and values. Witnessing the meticulous tea ceremonies and engaging in discussions with locals further deepened my appreciation for the art of tea-making and its role in fostering social connections.
Apart from the tea culture research, my personal observations from the programme were equally enlightening. The resilience and determination of the students at Yangloudong Primary School were truly inspiring. Despite facing various challenges, they exhibited unwavering enthusiasm for learning and an eagerness to embrace new knowledge. It was a humbling experience to witness their thirst for education and their unwavering spirit.

To the China Vision Team, I would like to express my gratitude for creating such a transformative programme. The opportunity to engage in both research and teaching activities allowed me to gain a comprehensive understanding of the local community and its educational needs. This experience has not only broadened my horizons but has also equipped me with valuable skills in cross-cultural communication and adaptability.
In conclusion, this joint programme between Wuhan University, the University of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University has been an incredibly enriching journey. It has helped shape my China Vision by emphasizing the significance of cultural exchange, education, and community engagement. The tea culture research, the inspiring students at Yangloudong Primary School, and the overall experience have left an indelible mark on my personal growth, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this transformative endeavour.
