Programme: Fudan University International Summer Session 2024

Partner Institution: Fudan University

Period: July 8 - August 2, 2024

I have gained abundant knowledge regarding China through this programme. By enrolling in various courses regarding China's media, culture, and philosophy, I understood China from multiple perspectives, which are distinct from my previous studies. China is rich in cultural heritage and philosophical thinking, and has a unique way of communicating. The courses I participated in gave me an excellent opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds, and to witness how viewpoints from both external students and internal students, as well as professors, interchanged. As the courses required students to do deep research regarding China, I can learn more about China from various developmental plans, social issues, trends, and culture. Throughout the process, new insights were developed as multiple perspectives were included.

Furthermore, I stepped out of my comfort zone by attending philosophy courses that provoked my understanding of the world, human beings' existence, and virtues in a comparative sense between Ancient China and Ancient Greece.

Various activities, such as the One Day Trip to Zhouzhuang Water Town and Huangpu River Cruise arranged by the programme, offered me a chance to experience the diversity of Chinese culture and development in the field by blending both historical and modern styles.

Overall, it is a remarkable month to stay in Shanghai to feel and experience its dynamic vibe and historical heritage, as well as the inclusion of people from all over the world and the vision of embracing the future by discovering new technologies that aim to enhance the living standards of people.
