Programme: The 12th Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macau Youth Leadership Summit
Partner Institution: Wuhan University
Period: May 12 - 18, 2024

To explore the future development and to appreciate the light of history, we have travelled to Wuhan to participate in this Summit of Young Leaders from the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao. We were honoured to visit the Antarctic Research Exhibition at the Wanlin Museum and listen to the sharing of a student from the research team, to gain an in-depth understanding of the scientific research results on the environmental changes, geography and physical observations of the Antarctic, which helped us to better understand the issues of global warming and the protection of the polar environment, and to broaden our horizons.

The most impressive part of the Summit was the simulated ‘One Planet’ Polar Summit. Through this open and inclusive platform, we exchanged views, shared experiences and gathered wisdom to explore the issues of global warming and polar environmental protection, and to seek better solutions under the collision of ideas, to jointly create a better and more sustainable future.
In the midst of technological development, we should not forget to listen to the voice of history. That’s why we visited Huanghe Lou, Tanhua Lin, Hubu Xiang, and Jingzhou, with the aim of foreseeing the future through these valuable architectural and cultural heritages, as well as the accumulation of historical memories and wisdom, to formulate smarter and more sustainable strategies for technological development. Finally, we can work together to build an ideal society with boom in technology and culture, achieving sustainable development.
