During my journey, I developed a profound understanding of China's vision and witnessed the impact of poverty alleviation policies in Guizhou. As a province abundant in mountains, I initially held the misconception that Guizhou would be a poverty-stricken region due to the economic challenges posed by its topography. However, upon arriving in Guiyang, I was pleasantly surprised to find a highly developed and well-equipped city. I had the opportunity to witness the impressive infrastructure in place, such as the extensive road networks and bridges, which have facilitated transportation and cultural exchange between Guizhou and other regions while aiding in poverty reduction efforts. It became evident that the Chinese government, along with numerous talented individuals, has made significant contributions to lifting Guizhou out of poverty.
In addition to exploring Guizhou's rich cultural tapestry, we visited Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, home to various ethnic minority groups. Here, we enjoyed captivating Miao song and dance performances and participated in a traditional Miao banquet, experiencing their warm hospitality and vibrant atmosphere. We also tried on Miao traditional costumes, deepening our connection to their culture and heritage. This cultural immersion allowed us to appreciate and respect Guizhou's diverse ethnic communities and traditions.
The most impressive part of the journey for me is undoubtedly the homestay dinner. On the second day of our study tour in Guizhou, we had the opportunity to visit the homes of local students for a homestay dinner. This experience left a lasting impression on me as I felt the warmth and hospitality of the Guizhou people. The evening was filled with unforgettable moments. We savored the delicious Guizhou cuisine prepared by our hosts and exchanged stories about culture, city development, and intriguing experiences in both Guiyang and Hong Kong. I was deeply moved by the genuine kindness and generosity displayed by the local students' families, who welcomed us into their homes with open arms, treating us like members of their own family. This homestay dinner was the most impressive aspect of the program for me, as it allowed us to witness firsthand the genuine warmth and hospitality of the people of Guizhou, leaving us with cherished memories of a truly unforgettable evening.
Through this trip, I not only gained an in-depth understanding of Guizhou's development and poverty alleviation work but also realized the richness and uniqueness of China as a multicultural country. Whether it is the advanced infrastructure or the diversity of ethnic cultures, it demonstrates the great achievements China has made in improving people's living standards and promoting regional development. I will always treasure this valuable experience and hope to make my own contribution to the promotion of friendly exchanges and cooperation between Guizhou and Hong Kong.
