Programme: Cultural Study Camp in Beijing (2023/24)

Partner Institution: Beijing Language and Culture University

Period: June 12 - 27, 2024

On this trip, we visited many ancient architectures in Beijing and Shanxi. We were guided by a professional guide who explained the history of these sights to us. The Great Wall in Beijing was impressive. It is built on a steep hill. We were exhausted after only two hours of climbing the Great Wall. It is incredible to imagine how people in ancient times built it. The Hanging Temple in Shanxi was the most impressive attraction for me. It is a Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian temple built on a cliff face.

The accommodation and catering conditions on this trip were excellent. In Beijing, the Beijing University of Language and Culture provided us with a double dormitory with a TV, a fridge and a bathroom. In Shanxi, we stayed in a five-star hotel that provided excellent service. I tasted many characteristic dishes on this trip. In Beijing, we tasted fried noodles, donkey rolls, bean juice and so on. In Shanxi, there were knife-cut noodles, yellow rice cakes, pork knuckles and so on. Every meal was very satisfying.

During the trip, I not only learned a lot about traditional Chinese culture, but I also made many wonderful memories. China Vision provided us with an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded people of our age outside the classroom. I made new friends and expanded my social circle.

I am very grateful to China Vision for giving me the opportunity to participate in this programme, which has enabled me to learn many new things. I will participate in China Vision's programmes in the future and recommend them to my friends. I hope that China Vision's future activities will be more and more interesting and that each project will be as useful and memorable as the one I participated in.
