About the Programme

Eligibility
HKU full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students are welcome to apply.
As requested by the host institution, priority will be given to local students.
Students should be able to write and read in Chinese, and communicate in Putonghua as the programme activities will be conducted exclusively in Putonghua.
Requirement
Participants should guarantee FULL PARTICIPATION in the programme (including the pre-departure briefing on Mar 5), and are required to submit the following documents to Mainland Affairs Office within 10 days upon the completion of the programme:
Experience sharing (300 words in both English and Chinese)
Survey
5 photographs taken during the participation of the programme
Programme Fee
As the programme is sponsored by the Funding Scheme for Youth Exchange in the Mainland, programme fee, local accommodation, transportation and travel insurance are covered and to be provided by the host institution.
Participants are responsible for a refundable deposit of HK$500 upon satisfactory completion of the programme, and other expenses including but not limited to souvenirs and personal meals.
Participants are strongly recommended to purchase travel insurance according to personal needs, especially for those who wish to extend their stay in the destination(s). For the university coverage, please refer to the policy for undergraduates and postgraduates provided by Finance and Enterprise Office.

Application Conditions
This tour is sponsored by the Funding Scheme for Youth Exchange in the Mainland. The Funding Scheme is jointly organized by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau (HYAB) and Youth Development Commission (YDC). Successful applicants must agree to the following terms and conditions:
a) Each participant is limited to a maximum of two Mainland exchange programmes funded by YDC in the 2024-25 funding scheme year, regardless of the organizing group;
b) Your personal data may be utilized by the government for opinion surveys, evaluation research, training/sharing sessions, and other related purposes;
c) By participating in the programme, you will automatically become a member of the "Youth Network" established under the HYAB and consent to receive information on youth activities and government youth development measures (with an opt-out option);
d) Applicants must download the HKYouth+ app and register as members.

Application Process
Make sure you have read through the details and met all of the programme requirements.

Complete HKU online registration and upload all the required documents by the application deadline as stated on the website. (Please note that no information/document(s) uploaded can be changed once the application is submitted.)
All shortlisted students will receive an invitation to interview on Feb 27 and 28 after submitting the application. The organizer will contact the students concerned with interview details via email.
Nominated students will be asked to confirm their offers, pay the deposit of HK$500 to the organizer and sign the letter of acceptance by the deadline stated in the offer email.
The organizer will then confirm the programme details accordingly.
